Your hands can be thought of as a physical “business card”. It is always better if they appear soft, manicured and free from cracked or dry skin. Of course, well-manicured nails are another massive concern. With the literal explosion of nail art in recent years, bold and eye-catching designs can very well become the “protagonist” of your personal story when meeting a friend or colleague. It goes without saying that an attention to nails is now a major concern for females of all ages and walks of life. Whether referring to those who prefer a minimalist appearance to the female who hopes to make an impact with boldness and colour, maintaining these nails is a priority.
Unfortunately, the use of products such as varnishes and solvents can actually weaken the structure of your nails with long-term use. This is even more of a concern for those who already have naturally fragile nails. What happens if a nail breaks and threatens to ruin the appearance of your entire hand? Of course, the nail can simply be cut down to its base. The issue with this solution is that the entire hand will remain “unbalanced” for up to ten days. Is there a better remedy to help repair a broken nail?
Simpler Than You Think:
Many women will be pleasantly surprised that there is an easy solution for such a condition. All that is required to repair a broken nail are an average tea bag, specialised nail glue and a transparent file. How can these items be used?S
First, take the tea bag and cut a small strip from the top; slightly larger than width of the nail that you intend to repair. Place this strip upon the nail to make certain that its dimensions are sufficient to cover the area to be fixed. If not, make further adjustments.
A Quick and Simple Process
First, place a bit of the transparent nail glue above the portion of the nail that is cracked or broken. You will next take the small tea bag strip that was cut from the tea bag. With a pair of tweezers, place it directly above the glue. The strip should absorb the wet glue and in most cases, it will become transparent as well. Before the solution dries, manipulate the strip so that none of its edges protrude from either side; the appearance will otherwise be ruined. The end result will be a strip that is flush with the surface of the nail and completely invisible to the naked eye.
Then, be sure to sit in a comfortable position and let the tea bag strip dry for a minimum of 30 minutes (depending upon the humidity). Be careful not to hit or touch the nail during the process. Keep in mind that the glue and the strip should be completely dry before resuming your daily activities. Read a book, phone a friend or simply sit back and relax until this takes place. When the glue has taken to the nail, it should be firmly adhered to the surface and provide an extra level of support. The final step is to sand down any edges that may be present on either side. However, be sure to gently polish the area. Any rough abrasions could ruin your previous efforts and once again expose the tear.
Now that the foundation has been prepared, all that is left is to apply the nail polish of your choice. This can be either transparent or coloured depending upon your individual tastes and the specific look that you hope to achieve.
Thanks to the use of a simple tea bag and a bit of work, your nails will appear polished, faultless and pristine. This is a quick and easy solution for those unexpected times when a nail may suddenly break.
